A new developer diary, and this one is mostly about the thing we keep promising: cloud sync.

Cloud sync: we missed the timeline, and here is why
We are genuinely sorry. We gave you a date and did not hit it.
We checked in with the development team again before writing this. Over the past few weeks the team had to work through a particularly difficult problem, and it pushed the overall schedule back. That is the real reason, not a euphemism for “we got distracted.”
The good news: apart from essential app maintenance and updates, essentially the whole team is now on cloud sync. We want to ship this as much as you want to use it, and we will post progress the moment there is progress worth posting.
Also in development: collapsible sticky notes
Sticky notes are getting a quality-of-life improvement that has been requested a lot.
You will be able to collapse a sticky note when you do not need it and expand it again when you do — so a page full of annotations can still read cleanly instead of turning into a wall of overlapping cards.

We know updates like this are frustrating when the headline is “still not yet.” We would rather be transparent about the delay than go quiet until it is done.
